Celebration of the 40th anniversary of the UCLA Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden, publication of the new Sculpture Garden Catalog by the Hammer Museum, and the publication of Margaret Leslie Davis’s biography, The Culture Broker: Franklin D. Murphy and the Transformation of Los Angeles by UC Press. Remarks were given Chancellor Gene D. Block, Chancellor Emeritus Charles E. Young, Margaret Leslie Davis, Franklin Lee Murphy, Uri Herscher, and Harold Williams. A reception and docent tours for invited guests followed in the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden.
